urban salvage meets beautiful furniture with this hand crafted live edge coffee table. this oak log was destined to be mulched, left after a small forest was cleared for a new neighborhood. i recovered the small log, cut it into slabs, and provided a place to let the very slow drying process take place. as part of the drying process, this piece was subjected to slight spalting that resulted in some unique black strips of grain traveling through one end. the live edges of this piece are facing each other and maintain a small gap running the center of the table.
the base is made from solid maple, dyed black.
the top is 32 inches long and 16 inches wide, and the table is 18 inches tall.
